VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE DEATH OF MR. JERRY LEON FOWLER, OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mr. Jerry Leon Fowler, of Lexington County, on May 15, 2008; and
Whereas, a native of Laurinburg, North Carolina, Mr. Fowler was the son of Glenna Hatcher Fowler and the late Leon Dixon Fowler. A graduate of Laurel Hill High School in Laurel Hill, North Carolina, he attended the University of North Carolina-Pembroke; and
Whereas, he and his father owned and operated Fowler Tire Service and also a home security business in Laurinburg, where the younger Fowler was active in the Jaycees. After moving to Columbia, he founded Jerry Fowler and The Results Team Realtors and hosted a real estate talk show, "Real Estate Focus," for sixteen years on WVOC; and
Whereas, in addition, Mr. Fowler was a member of the Lexington/Richland School District Five Board and Better Business Bureau board, among other activities. As a motivational speaker, he had spoken recently to many church groups about his illness; and
Whereas, he leaves behind a loving and devoted wife, Judy Ann Amick Fowler; son Jerry Leon "Lee" Fowler, Jr.; stepson Stewart Thrower; daughters Kristina Pruyn and Tracey Hartman; stepdaughter Chris Thrower Rogers; eleven grandchildren; his mother; and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be missed. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the death of Mr. Jerry Leon Fowler, of Lexington County, and extend their deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Judy Ann Fowler.
