A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO WISH MASSACHUSETTS SENATOR EDWARD KENNEDY WELL AS HE BEGINS MEDICAL TREATMENT, AND TO OFFER THE PRAYERS OF THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH CAROLINA FOR HIS RECOVERY.

Whereas, Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy, who has represented his state in the United States Senate for more than forty-five years, currently is facing medical challenges that will require all his well-known courage and determination; and

Whereas, the citizens of South Carolina are pleased to hear that the Senator is in good spirits and full of energy after several days of testing and diagnosis; and

Whereas, understanding that treatment choices will soon be made, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, on behalf of the people of South Carolina, wish to offer their prayers to Senator Kennedy; his wife, Vicki; and the Senator's medical team for the wisdom they will need to make such important decisions. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, wish Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy well as he begins medical treatment, and offer the prayers of the citizens of South Carolina for his recovery.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Senator Edward Kennedy.
