VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE LOWER RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL "LADY DIAMONDS" BASKETBALL TEAM ON ITS STELLAR SEASON AND IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2008 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, no strangers to the taste of conquest, the Lower Richland High School "Lady Diamonds" basketball team capped its perfect 26-0 season by capturing the 2008 Class AAAA State Championship title, defeating Dorman 47-45; and
Whereas, championship play in basketball demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team play and good sportsmanship; and
Whereas, using these talents and attributes, Coach Deborah Stroman and her assistant coaches, Lisa Diaz, Romaina Myers, and Sheila Mayzck, led the Lady Diamonds to their third back-to-back win in a string of state championships; and
Whereas, adding luster to an already shining season filled with awards, Fannie Goodwin and Dayshaun Richbow were named to the State All-Tournament team, and Morgan Stroman was named Most Valuable Player for the third year and All-State Girls Basketball AAAA Player of the Year, among other honors; and
Whereas, the House takes great pleasure in recognizing the young women of the Lower Richland High School girls basketball team for leading with excellence both in the classroom and on the basketball court and expects to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Lower Richland High School "Lady Diamonds" basketball team on its stellar season and impressive win of the 2008 Class AAAA State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Principal Marvin Byers and Coach Deborah Stroman, of Lower Richland High School.
