VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MR. LOU KRIEGER FOR HIS TIRELESS ADVOCACY OF PROTECTING THE CHILDREN OF OUR STATE AND NATION AND TO COMMEND HIM ON HIS EFFORTS IN THE PASSAGE OF JESSICA'S LAW IN 2006.
Whereas, a Baltimore, Maryland native, Mr. Lou Krieger dedicates his time and energy to efforts that are purposed to keep our children safe from harm; and
Whereas, Mr. Krieger is no stranger to sacrifice, as he is a Vietnam War veteran; and
Whereas, celebrating a career in radio for over thirty years, Mr. Krieger brightens the morning of Horry-Georgetown residents with his morning radio show, playing the best music of the 1960's and 1970's; and
Whereas, perhaps best known in his community as a radio personality, he also serves as an exceptional advocate for abused and missing children of this State and Nation; and
Whereas, Lou Krieger's persistence in achieving greater protection for our children had a direct impact on the passage of Jessica's Law, a law that increased penalties for persons convicted of preying on the state's most vulnerable persons and required electronic monitoring for life for certain sex offenders; and
Whereas, the passage of Jessica's Law has already made an undeniable impact in keeping the children of South Carolina safe from harm; and
Whereas, it is fitting for the South Carolina Senate to pause in their deliberations to honor Lou Krieger for his exceptional commitment to keeping the children of South Carolina safe, so that they may grow to become healthy, responsible citizens. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Mr. Lou Krieger for his tireless advocacy of protecting the children of our State and Nation and commend him on his efforts in the passage of Jessica's Law in 2006.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Krieger.
