A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MICHAEL PRATT FOR BEING NAMED 2008 ELEMENTARY LEVEL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS.

Whereas, Michael Pratt, assistant principal at Orchard Park Elementary School, is an inspiration to his students, motivating them by building school spirit and encouraging student success; and

Whereas, Michael Pratt has been an educator for over eighteen years, serving as assistant principal at Chester Middle School before becoming assistant principal at Orchard Park Elementary in 2001; and

Whereas, Michael Pratt, along with fellow colleagues, is responsible for the introduction of the Marathon Club at Orchard Park Elementary. The premise for this club is to encourage students to strengthen their heart and lungs through a running program. During the 2006-2007 school year, over seventy students, faculty, and parents participated in the program, running over five thousand eight hundred miles; and

Whereas, Michael Pratt was named 2008 Elementary Level Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate congratulate Michael Pratt for being named 2008 Elementary Level Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Michael Pratt.
