HONORING THE KICKIN' ASPHALT BICYCLE CLUB OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND.
Whereas, the Kickin' Asphalt Bicycle Club of Hilton Head has recently been named "The Best New Club in the Southeast Region of the League of American Bicyclists"; and
Whereas, the club has grown from two members to one hundred eight members in its first year, offering monthly meetings, weekly rides, and numerous social events for its members; and
Whereas, the club has helped plan and has participated in hosting the first "RIDE4KIDS" event on Hilton Head Island, raising twenty-five thousand dollars for the local Boys and Girls Club; and
Whereas, the club members have volunteered to help with keeping trails free from debris, has helped sponsor a bicycle safety symposium, and has registered two members to become teachers of bicycle instruction as certified by the League of American Bicyclists. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, honor the Kickin' Asphalt Bicycle Club of Hilton Head Island.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Kicking' Asphalt Bicycle Club of Hilton Head Island.
