TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE HONORABLE PATRICIA BALDWIN DIXON, OF CHARLESTON COUNTY, FOR TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE, UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HER SUCCESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize the many years of service that the Honorable Patricia Baldwin Dixon has given to Charleston County and our State; and
Whereas, born in Charleston to Agnes Heape Baldwin and Holly Baldwin on June 15, 1945, Patricia has one brother, Donald Baldwin, from Ravenel and Hollywood; and
Whereas, on November 29, 1985, she married her beloved husband Johnny R. Dixon, and is blessed with two fine sons and five adoring grandchildren; and
Whereas, Patricia Dixon served Charleston County with distinction in various capacities for fourteen years before being appointed a summary court judge in June 1995, a position in which she has served the citizens of Hollywood, Meggett, Rantowels, Ravenel, and Yonges Island fairly and with integrity for thirteen years; and
Whereas, Judge Dixon has continued her growth as a summary court judge through membership in the Summary Court Judges Association and has gained strength to serve her community as a congregant of First Baptist Church; and
Whereas, in March 2008, Patricia Baldwin Dixon retired from public service on the summary court in order to pursue other pleasures; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate express their deep appreciation to Patricia Baldwin Dixon for her twenty-seven years of distinguished service to Charleston County. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Honorable Patricia Baldwin Dixon, of Charleston County, for twenty-seven years of distinguished public service, upon the occasion of her retirement, and wish her success in all her future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Patricia Baldwin Dixon.
