A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND MR. RONALD LOY, COORDINATOR OF THE DEDICATED AND DILIGENT SERVICE (DADS) MENTORING PROGRAM, FOR HIS OUTSTANDING AND ENTHUSIASTIC LEADERSHIP OF THE PROGRAM.

Whereas, the House of Representatives recognizes that, without the help of concerned and caring mentors, many of today's youth will grow to adulthood without a father or father figure to participate in their education and encourage them in becoming men of character; and

Whereas, in response to this serious issue, the DADS program, funded by the Medical University of South Carolina, Trident Urban League, and Lafarge North America Cement Company, was created by Mr. Calvin Malone to promote a male mentor in the educational setting for male students who did not otherwise have a father figure to participate in their education; and

Whereas, the success of the DADS program is due in large part to the outstanding and enthusiastic leadership of Mr. Ronald Loy, who has labored tirelessly to ensure that the young men participating in the program have a genuine opportunity to develop leadership skills and exemplary character through interaction with dedicated positive community role models; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, with much admiration, would like to express the gratitude of the State of South Carolina to Ronald Loy for his exceptional service to the DADS program, most recently evident in the proud high school graduation of the first group of young men participating in the program. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend Mr. Ronald Loy, coordinator of the Dedicated and Diligent Service (DADS) mentoring program, for his outstanding and enthusiastic leadership of the program.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Ronald Loy.
