TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE HILTON HEAD PREPARATORY SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND VICTORY IN THE 2007 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION REGION II CLASS AA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, AND TO COMMEND THE PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.
Whereas, repeating their winning performance of 2005, the Hilton Head Preparatory School Dolphins captured the 2007 South Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (SCISAA) championship football title on November 16 against hometown rivals Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles; and
Whereas, team captain and quarterback, J. R. McMullin, and co-captains, fullback Michael Soby and tight end J. P. Treadaway, all seniors, led their fellow Dolphins in a 24 to 15 victory; and
Whereas, the Hilton Head Dolphins have garnered three SCISAA State championship titles in the last ten years, and in the last two impressive seasons they have won twenty games under the coaching of Ron Peduzzi; and
Whereas, Coach Peduzzi and his staff believe in teaching the young men that they coach the fundamentals of football and hard work, but more importantly, life lessons to aid them in becoming outstanding citizens of society; and
Whereas, the young men of this Dolphin football team have learned the rewards that often result from demanding practices and arduous effort which have prepared them for success on and off the gridiron; and
Whereas, in garnering this title, the Hilton Head Dolphin football team has brought pride and recognition to their school and community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Hilton Head Preparatory School football team for its outstanding season and victory in the 2007 South Carolina Independent School Athletic Association Region II Class AA championship game, and commend the players, coaches, and staff.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to head of school Dr. Susan Groesbeck and Coach Ron Peduzzi.
