TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE ZAN AND MARY ADELE TOMLINSON ON BEING NAMED STATE WINNERS OF THE 2007 SOUTH CAROLINA FARM BUREAU YOUNG FARMER AND RANCHER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
Whereas, Zan and Mary Adele Tomlinson have been recognized as state winners of the 2007 South Carolina Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award; and
Whereas, the top winners among three finalist families, the Tomlinsons, who produce turkeys, corn, wheat, soybeans, and beef cattle at their farm near Lynchburg, were honored during award ceremonies at the recent South Carolina Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach; and
Whereas, presented annually, the Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award recognizes young agricultural entrepreneurs for quality of farm or ranch operation, growth and financial progress, and Farm Bureau leadership, as well as leadership in the community; and
Whereas, as 2007 state finalists, the Tomlinsons reaped a cash gift of one thousand dollars and a trip to the South Carolina Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach; as state winners, they also garnered a Dodge Ram SLT 2500 Quad Cab and an expense-paid trip to the January 2008 American Farm Bureau Convention in New Orleans; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives is proud to salute Zan and Adele Tomlinson for their outstanding achievement and their enthusiastic dedication to agriculture and wishes them well as they go on to represent the Palmetto State at the national level. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Zan and Mary Adele Tomlinson on being named state winners of the 2007 South Carolina Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Zan and Mary Adele Tomlinson.
