A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DR. PEGGY C. PRESCOTT UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM PIEDMONT TECHNICAL COLLEGE, AND TO WISH HER MUCH HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to hear that Dr. Peggy C. Prescott will begin a much deserved retirement from Piedmont Technical College where she has served students at the Laurens County Higher Education Center in Clinton, S.C., a County Extension Center Program and Service; and

Whereas, since July 2004, Dr. Prescott has competently served at the Piedmont Technical College Laurens County Higher Education Center as Educational Support Coordinator, Academic Program Director, and Professor; and

Whereas, since November 2000, Dr. Prescott has ably served as Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Visiting Professor at Claflin University; and

Whereas, from 1999-2004, Dr. Prescott was employed by the South Carolina Workplace Resource Center (Laurens School Districts 55 and 56 and the South Carolina Department of Education) as a curriculum developer and trainer of workplace instructors; and

Whereas, from 2002-2004, Dr. Prescott served as an Adjunct Professor at Webster University, Columbia Metro Campus; and

Whereas, Dr. Prescott's vast experience in the public schools of Laurens County include Principal, E.B. Morse Elementary School (1995-1999); Principal, Ford School (1991-1995); Assistant Principal, Ford Elementary and Junior High School (1987-1991); Assistant Principal, Sanders Elementary School (1982-1987); fifth grade teacher, Sanders Elementary School (1978-1982); and third and forth grade teacher at Edgewood Elementary School in Rock Hill (1976-1978); and

Whereas, Dr. Prescott's education and special training involve an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, South Carolina State University (2001); Ed.S. in Education Administration, Clemson University (1984); M.Ed., Elementary Education, Winthrop University (1978); B.S., Early Childhood Education, Winthrop University (1976); and Graduate of the Buckley School Of Written Communications (2003); and

Whereas, Dr. Prescott's professional memberships include Phi Delta Kappa, International; the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development; and the National Association for Female Educators; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations to recognize the many accomplishments of this fine South Carolinian. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Dr. Peggy C. Prescott upon the occasion of her retirement from Piedmont Technical College, and to wish her much happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Peggy C. Prescott.
