VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAY MISSED ON APRIL 26, 2010, BY THE STUDENTS OF DARLINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO A TORNADO IS EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO SNOW, EXTREME WEATHER, OR OTHER DISRUPTIONS BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-425(C) of the 1976 Code, the school day missed on April 26, 2010, by the students of Darlington County School District when the schools were closed due to a tornado is waived from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to snow, extreme weather, or other disruptions be made up.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
