A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ALAN B. DAVIS OF IRMO UPON BEING CHOSEN THE 2009 ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA SOCIETY OF ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVES.

Whereas, Alan B. Davis of Irmo has been selected as the 2009 Association Executive of the Year by the South Carolina Society of Association Executives; and

Whereas, in being so chosen, he has received the top honor of his profession bestowed upon only twenty-three association executives since 1985; and

Whereas, Alan has served as executive director for the National Association for Campus Activities headquartered in Columbia for thirteen years and has consistently provided the highest level of service and leadership to his association; and

Whereas, he has brought much deserved credit upon himself and upon his profession of association management nationally and on a statewide basis by serving as President of the South Carolina Society of Association Executives, and is recognized among his peers as a leader and expert in his field; and

Whereas, Mr. Davis has been successful not only within his profession, but also as a community leader, serving as President of the Rotary Club of the Vista Night, as a community mentor for the South Carolina Technical College System Leadership Academy, as a member of the board of directors of Columbia Council for Internationals, and as president-elect of the National Association of College Auxiliary Services; and

Whereas, Mr. Davis has demonstrated the highest work ethic standards in his position and has further demonstrated sincere care and concern for the membership and staff of the National Association for Campus Activities, and is a dedicated professional and outstanding individual deserving of this recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Alan B. Davis of Irmo upon being chosen the 2009 Association Executive of the Year by the South Carolina Society of Association Executives

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Alan Davis.
