A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE LANDRUM HIGH SCHOOL BOYS CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM ON ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2009 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO CONGRATULATE THE RUNNERS AND THEIR COACH ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, the Landrum High School boys cross-country team capped an outstanding season by capturing the 2009 Class A State Championship title at the Sandhills Research Center on November 7, 2009; and

Whereas, true excellence in long-distance running demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team effort and good sportsmanship; and

Whereas, using these talents and attributes, Coach Jeremy Darby and his runners showed fans and foes alike that the Landrum High School boys cross-country team is a force to be reckoned with; and

Whereas, jubilant Cardinal fans cheered their excitement as they watched the team pack up the title trophy for the trip home. Making a sweet victory even sweeter, the Cardinals handed their school its second straight cross-country title win with this championship; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the runners of the Landrum High School cross-country team for their commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the course, and the members wish them continued success in the seasons to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Landrum High School boys cross-country team on its impressive win of the 2009 Class A State Championship, and congratulate the runners and their coach on an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Brian Sherman and Coach Jeremy Darby of Landrum High School.
