VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE PINEWOOD PREPARATORY SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE 2010 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.
Whereas, on May 8, 2010, ready for the challenge, the Pinewood Preparatory School girls soccer team defeated Cardinal Newman 3-2 to win the 2010 South Carolina Independent School Association Class AAA State Championship title; and
Whereas, fully dedicating their own talents and skills to the training of their student athletes, Head Coach Gail Osborne and Assistant Coach Chuck Kuhnell built these young women into a soccer team that proved its championship caliber all the way to the top; and
Whereas, cheered on by exultant Pinewood fans, the Lady Panthers nailed their second consecutive state championship, continuing the girls soccer dynasty begun with last year's title victory; and
Whereas, this powerhouse team came to the 2010 title game with a superb 20-6 season, a record that gave their opponents ample warning that Pinewood had not been resting on its laurels since it took the championship trophy home last year; and
Whereas, to add further luster to an already scintillating season, the team produced four All-Star players: Courtney Angotti-Smith, Briana Bleier, Megan Fish, and Katherine Gore; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the young women of the Pinewood Preparatory School girls soccer team for leading with excellence both in the classroom and on the field and expects to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Pinewood Preparatory School girls soccer team for its outstanding season and for capturing the 2010 South Carolina Independent School Association Class AAA State Championship, and honor the team's exceptional players, coaches, and staff.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Headmaster Dr. Glyn Cowlishaw and Coach Gail Osborne of Pinewood Preparatory School.
