A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ADAM TAYLOR, JR., OF THE NORTH GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY BASEBALL TEAM FOR BEING NAMED 2010 NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (NCCAA) WORLD SERIES MOST VALUABLE PLAYER, AND FOR LEADING HIS TEAM IN CAPTURING THE 2010 NCCAA WORLD SERIES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, freshman Adam Taylor, Jr., of the North Greenville University baseball team capped a winning season by leading the Crusaders to their first national championship as they swept the competition in the National Christian College Athletic Association's World Series in Cincinnati, Ohio; and

Whereas, in its undefeated World Series run, the team powered past Colorado Christian University, Olivet Nazarene University, Southeastern University, and Bluefield College to grab the top prize; and

Whereas, as a result of his outstanding 8-18 performance at the playoffs, including 2 homeruns, 2 doubles, 2 singles, and 10 RBI, Adam Taylor was named 2010 NCCAA World Series Most Valuable Player, an honor for which he gives the enablement of God full credit; and

Whereas, part of a committed, disciplined team that wrapped up its season with a fine 46-14 record, Adam finished the season with a .382 batting average with 79 hits, 19 doubles, 69 RBI, and 7 sacrifice flies. He finished tied for thirtieth nationally in RBI, the top freshman in the country in that category, and he was tied for fourteenth in sacrifice flies, again as the number-one freshman; and

Whereas, Adam also finished tied for sixty-sixth in the country in hits, tied for sixty-sixth nationally in doubles, and tied as the third-ranked freshman nationally in those categories; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing Adam Taylor, Jr., for his most recent accomplishments on the field and looks with interest to his career in the years ahead, fully expecting to hear of continued great achievements. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Adam Taylor, Jr., of the North Greenville University baseball team for being named 2010 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series Most Valuable Player, and for leading his team in capturing the 2010 NCCAA World Series National Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Adam Taylor, Jr.
