To whom was referred a Bill (S. 1294) to amend Section 50-11-2540 of the 1976 Code, relating to the trapping season of furbearing animals, to provide that it is lawful to trap coyotes from November, etc., respectfully
That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:
Amend the bill, as and if amended, page 1, by striking lines 24-30 and inserting:
/ for commercial purposes from January first to March December first of each year. The trapping season may not exceed sixty-one days each year under any circumstances. It is unlawful to trap any other times unless authorized by the department. It is lawful to take furbearing animals by other lawful means during the general open hunting seasons established therefor.

TO AMEND SECTION 50-11-2540 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO THE TRAPPING SEASON OF FURBEARING ANIMALS, TO PROVIDE THAT IT IS LAWFUL TO TRAP COYOTES FROM NOVEMBER FIRST OF EACH YEAR TO MARCH FIRST OF THE SUCCEEDING YEAR.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 50-11-2540 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 50-11-2540. (A) It is lawful to trap furbearing animals for commercial purposes from January first to March first of each year. The trapping season may not exceed sixty-one days each year under any circumstances. It is unlawful to trap any other times unless authorized by the department. It is lawful to take furbearing animals by other lawful means during the general open hunting seasons established therefor.
(B) It is lawful to trap coyotes from November first of each year to March first of the succeeding year. It is unlawful to trap coyotes any other times unless authorized by the department. It is lawful to take coyotes by other lawful means during the general open hunting seasons established for furbearing animals."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
