TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAY MISSED ON MARCH 2, 2009, BY THE STUDENTS OF ANDERSON SCHOOL DISTRICT 1 WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO SNOW IS EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO SNOW, EXTREME WEATHER, OR OTHER DISRUPTIONS BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-425(C) of the 1976 Code, the school day missed on March 2, 2009, by the students of Anderson School District 1 when the schools were closed due to snow is waived from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to snow, extreme weather, or other disruptions be made up.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
