Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the Senate and the House of Representatives shall meet in joint assembly in the Hall of the House of Representatives Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at noon to elect a successor to the Honorable Kaye G. Hearn, Justice of the Supreme Court, Seat 4, whose term expires July 31, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable Thomas E. Huff, Judge of the Court of Appeals, Seat 8, whose term expires on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable George C. James, Jr., Judge of the Circuit Court for the Third Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term expires on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable Michael Baxley, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term expires on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable L. Casey Manning, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Fifth Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable G. Thomas Cooper, Jr., Judge of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, Seat 3, upon his retirement on or before December 31, 2012, to fill the unexpired term that expires on June 30, 2015; to elect a successor to the Honorable Roger L. Couch, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable Eugene C. Griffith, Jr., Judge of the Circuit Court for the Eighth Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable Kristi Lea Harrington, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable Alexander S. Macaulay, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Tenth Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term expires on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable William Paul Keesley, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Seat 1, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable R. Knox McMahon, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable Michael G. Nettles, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit, Seat 1, whose term expires on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable Perry M. Buckner III, Judge of the Circuit Court for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit, Seat 1, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012; to elect a successor to the Honorable John D. McLeod, Judge of the Administrative Law Court, Seat 2, whose term will expire on June 30, 2012.
Be it further resolved that all nominations must be made by the Chairman of the Judicial Merit Selection Commission, and that no further nominating or seconding speeches may be made by members of the General Assembly on behalf of any candidate.
