A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE MR. JIM O'LOUGHLIN FOR HIS SERVICE AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE CAROLINAS HOSPITAL SYSTEM.

Whereas, Jim O'Loughlin has ably served as Chief Executive Officer of the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina since November 2002; and

Whereas, during his tenure, Carolinas Hospital System has been recognized by Triad Hospitals three times as one of the top performing hospitals in the company for excellence in patient, physician, and employee satisfaction, as well as financial performance; and

Whereas, Mr. O'Loughlin has also been very active in the Florence community serving on the Boards of Florence Darlington Technical College Foundation, Francis Marion University Foundation, Florence County Economic Development Partnership (Past Chairman), Florence County Progress, Science South (Chairman), United Way of Florence (Past Chairman), Florence Chamber of Commerce, and the YMCA; and

Whereas, in addition, Mr. O'Loughlin served in 2011 as Chairman of the Board of the South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA), as well as serving on numerous committees of the SCHA during his tenure in Florence; and

Whereas, Mr. O'Loughlin also serves on the board of the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), as well as several committees of the FAH; and

Whereas, it is proper and fitting to honor Mr. Jim O'Loughlin for his dedication to serving the health care needs of the citizens of the Palmetto State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, honor and recognize Mr. Jim O'Loughlin for his service as Chief Executive Officer of the Carolinas Hospital System.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Jim O'Loughlin.
