A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR JOSEPH LYDE "JOE" GRAHAM, JR., UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY-TWO AND ONE-HALF YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A TOWN COUNCILMAN FOR THE TOWN OF TIMMONSVILLE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina are appreciative of the time and years of dedication Joe Graham has given to his town and community as a member of the Timmonsville Town Council; and

Whereas, serving the Town of Timmonsville first as a volunteer fireman and chief of the fire department, he then devoted many years of service to the town as a senior councilman, Mayor Pro-Tem, and a concerned citizen; and

Whereas, he eagerly served as a mentor for new council members, helping them to gain a sound understanding of all procedures related to town council governance in South Carolina; and

Whereas, a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, he served as a deacon and church treasurer, and using his talent as an artist, he made the stage for the living Last Supper during the observance of the church's Easter season; and

Whereas, together with his beloved wife, Rita, he has reared two fine sons who graduated from The Citadel, and they have been blessed with a two delightful grandchildren; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the contributions that Joe Graham has made to the Town of Timmonsville and celebrate his success and recognition as a town council member emeritus in the Palmetto State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Joseph Lyde "Joe" Graham, Jr., upon the occasion of his retirement, after thirty-two and one-half years of outstanding service as a town councilman for the Town of Timmonsville, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Joseph Lyde "Joe" Graham, Jr.
