VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE KEENAN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR CAPTURING THE 2011 CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.
Whereas, fully prepared to keep the title of state champs they took home last year, the Keenan High School boys basketball team crowned a splendid season by capturing the 2011 Class AA State Championship title, defeating Mullins 56-50 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia on Saturday, March 5, 2011; and
Whereas, jubilant Keenan fans cheered with excitement as the Raiders, with equal doses of heart and hustle, orchestrated a game that gave sports pundits confidence in predicting a repeat performance for 2012; and
Whereas, the team's current back-to-back title wins called up good memories to Keenan fans of 2000 and 2001, when the Raiders accomplished the same feat. This year's title is the sixth in program history; and
Whereas, Coach Zach Norris, who had honed his team into a championship machine, saw the fruits of his labors in a performance that proved his athletes know how to play and win under pressure; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the young men of the Keenan High School boys basketball team for leading with excellence both in the classroom and on the hardwood and expects to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Keenan High School boys basketball team for capturing the 2011 Class AA State Championship title, and honor the team's exceptional players, coaches, and staff.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Alvin Pressley and Coach Zach Norris of Keenan High School.
