A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE WILLIAM WAGERS OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON BEING NAMED THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS SOUTH CAROLINA 2011 SCOUT OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, the House of Representatives are pleased to learn that William Wagers of Lexington County has been named the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) South Carolina 2011 Scout of the Year; and

Whereas, nominated to receive the honor by Lexington VFW Post 8738, William was formally recognized as the VFW South Carolina 2011 Scout of the Year at an awards ceremony held in Chapin on Monday, May 23, 2011; and

Whereas, in order to be considered for the award, nominees must be registered, active members of a Boy Scout troop, Venturing crew, or a Sea Scout ship and must have received the Eagle Scout Award, Venture Silver Award, or Sea Scout Quartermaster Award. Nominees also must be fifteen years of age, enrolled in high school at the time of selection, and must have demonstrated practical citizenship in school, scouting, and the community; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives, proud of William's fine achievement, takes great pleasure in commending him for the outstanding personal and leadership qualities that provided the foundation for his receiving this prestigious award and that will serve him well in life. The members look with interest to William's continued accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor and congratulate William Wagers of Lexington County on being named the Veterans of Foreign Wars South Carolina 2011 Scout of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to William Wagers.
