A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ON CAPTURING THE 2011 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO COMMEND THE RUNNERS AND COACHES ON A SUCCESSFUL SEASON.

Whereas, on November 5, 2011, in Columbia, the Eastside High School girls cross country team breezed past the competition to grab the 2011 Class AAA State Championship title; and

Whereas, through relentless work, Head Coach Ed Boehmke harnessed the strength and endurance of these young athletes into a championship team that refused to settle for second best; and

Whereas, with such outstanding training behind them, the resulting well-balanced title effort of the Lady Eagles clinched the crown for them; and

Whereas, the team's months of disciplined training also culminated in four of its members turning in All-State performances, adding to the pride felt by exultant Eagle fans; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to recognize such a fine group of athletes as the Eastside High School girls cross country team, and the members expect to hear of great accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Eastside High School girls cross country team on capturing the 2011 Class AAA State Championship title, and commend the runners and coaches on a successful season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Mike Thorne and Head Coach Ed Boehmke.
