A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND DR. GEORGE JULIAN LEVKOFF, SR., OF LEXINGTON COUNTY UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE PRACTICE OF DENTISTRY, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives have learned that George Julian Levkoff, Sr., D.M.D., will begin a well-deserved retirement after thirty-three years of outstanding dental service to the citizens of the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, in preparation for his life's work, the Columbia native earned a bachelor's degree in biology with minors in psychology and chemistry from the University of South Carolina. In his undergraduate days, he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honors Fraternity, Circle K, Blue Key Honor Society, and Phi Epsilon Pi; and

Whereas, he worked at BlueCross BlueShield before graduating in 1979 from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, he entered private practice that same year; and

Whereas, believing strongly in active community involvement, Dr. Levkoff has served as a volunteer at the Richland County Children's Clinic for twenty-five years and at Give Kids a Smile for five years. In addition, he is a member of the Irmo Navy and Irmo Optimist Club (founding member); and

Whereas, active also in various professional organizations, Dr. Levkoff is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association (Central District), American Orthodontic Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and is a past president of the Greater Columbia Dental Association. He has had extensive training in esthetics, orthodontics, occlusion, and many other facets of dentistry and continues to stay abreast of the latest in dental innovations; and

Whereas, Dr. Levkoff finds his strongest encouragement in the support of his family, his wife, the former Linda Love Tallon, and their five children, Ted, Seth, Julian, Phillip, and Tatum. Among his greatest delights are his two grandchildren, John and Gibson; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence in service that Dr. Levkoff has bestowed on the people of South Carolina. The members take great pleasure in wishing him well as he enters retirement and trust he will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend Dr. George Julian Levkoff, Sr., of Lexington County upon the occasion of his retirement from the practice of dentistry, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Dr. George Julian Levkoff, Sr.
