A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-9-750 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT NONRESIDENT VETERANS OF CERTAIN MILITARY OPERATIONS MAY PURCHASE A HUNTING OR FISHING LICENSE FOR THE AMOUNT THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES CHARGES A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 6, Chapter 9, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-9-750.    A nonresident who is a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, or Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan may purchase a hunting or fishing license for the amount the department charges a resident of this State. A person who is covered by this provision must provide the department with a DD214 or other official documentation that states that he is a veteran of one or more of these military operations."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
