VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR BECKY WALTON, PUBLIC INFORMATION DIRECTOR FOR THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY-THREE YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina should pause in their deliberations to express their gratitude to Becky Walton for her significant contributions to the South Carolina Department of Agriculture; and
Whereas, for thirty-three years, Becky Walton has worked for the State of South Carolina, twenty-five of those years with South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA); and
Whereas, she has worked with three commissioners of the SCDA: Hugh E. Weathers, Charles R. Sharpe, and D. Leslie Tindal; and
Whereas, a key member and leader of the South Carolina Agricultural Council for many years, she will be honored at the council's meeting for her exemplary service on August 9, 2012; and
Whereas, a steady and consistent contact for the SCDA, she has used her position and work to improve agriculture and the rural infrastructure for the Palmetto State; and
Whereas, her work with allied organizations such as the South Carolina Agricultural Council has paid great dividends for the groups and for the state as she could be relied upon to serve as a resource for the SCDA and to represent the SCDA and its work in various and multiple allied efforts; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the years of dedication that have made Becky Walton such a tremendous asset and visible proponent of agriculture in South Carolina for the past twenty-five years, and they wish her many years of enjoyment in her well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Becky Walton, Public Information Director for the South Carolina Department of Agriculture, upon the occasion of her retirement after thirty-three years of outstanding service, and wish her continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Becky Walton.
