A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR JUDITH CLAIRE DEVINE HOLZ, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives have learned that Judith Claire Devine Holz soon will begin a much-deserved retirement after more than eighteen years of distinguished service as Executive Assistant to the President of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC); and

Whereas, in preparation for her career, Judy Holz earned a bachelor's degree, followed by a master's degree, both in English at the University of Cincinnati; and

Whereas, in 1994, she took up her duties as executive assistant to the president at MUSC and since has served with distinction; and

Whereas, a woman of faith, Mrs. Holz finds spiritual strength as a member of KKBE Synagogue in Charleston, where her husband serves as rabbi. She is also former chair of the Advisory Committee for Women's Studies at the College of Charleston; and

Whereas, married since 1966 to Anthony "Tony" Holz, she and her husband have been blessed with a fine family of three daughters, Meiera Stern, Jessa Herrick, and Dara Yongman, who have given their parents the joy and delight of six grandchildren; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives, grateful for the consistent commitment and excellence Judy Holz has demonstrated in her service to the people of South Carolina, takes great pleasure in wishing her well as she enters retirement and trusts she will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Judith Claire Devine Holz, Executive Assistant to the President of the Medical University of South Carolina, upon the occasion of her retirement, and wish her continued success and fulfillment in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Judith Claire Devine Holz.
