A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO THANK MR. JOHN R. LEGARE FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED AND EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, John R. Legare is a 2001 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications; and

Whereas, he has over eight years of service to the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, he has served more than five years as spokesman at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division serving during numerous emergency and disaster situations; and

Whereas, he has worked extensively with the response efforts for evacuees of Hurricane Katrina; and

Whereas, he has worked over three years in the Lieutenant Governor's Office on Aging, where he has promoted and enhanced services to the expanding elderly proportions of our society and State, and he has worked tirelessly to communicate these issues to policymakers and advocates; and

Whereas, he is universally regarded as a Christian gentleman worthy of friendship and admiration. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. John Legare on his years of dedicated service to the people of the State of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to John R. Legare.
