A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND GARY GILMORE, COASTAL CAROLINA UNIVERSITY HEAD BASEBALL COACH, ON BEING RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE BEST NON-BCS CONFERENCE BASEBALL COACHES IN AMERICA.

Whereas, Gary Gilmore, Coastal Carolina University head baseball coach, has been recognized as one of the best non-BCS conference baseball coaches in America by CollegeBaseballInsider.com; and

Whereas, CollegeBaseballInsider.com co-founders Sean Ryan and Phil Stanton recently conducted a survey in which they asked collegiate baseball coaches to name the best head coach in the non-BCS conferences. When all votes were tabulated, Coach Gilmore's name topped the list; and

Whereas, now in his sixteenth year as Coastal Carolina's head coach and his twenty-second year as a head coach, Coach Gilmore has a career record of 868-407-2. He has won fifty games four times at Coastal and set school and Big South records with fifty-five wins in 2010; and

Whereas, the fifty-five wins and the Chants' .846 winning percentage (55-10) led the nation this past season when the team finished with the nation's second-best RPI rating; and

Whereas, having been recognized by his peers as one of the best coaches in the business, Coach Gilmore has brought great pride to his university and State, and the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in extending congratulations to him on receiving this latest honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend Gary Gilmore, Coastal Carolina University head baseball coach, on being recognized as one of the best non-BCS conference baseball coaches in America.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Coach Gary Gilmore.
