TO CONGRATULATE THE FORT MILL HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SWIM TEAM ON CAPTURING THE 2010 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO RECOGNIZE THE SWIMMERS AND THEIR COACHES ON A SENSATIONAL SEASON.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are pleased to learn that the Fort Mill High School boys swim team nabbed the 2010 Class AAA State Championship title; and
Whereas, against the best competition in the state, the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets swam to victory at the state meet, defeating Academic Charter School of Charleston 356-355 at the University of South Carolina Natatorium on Saturday, October 9, 2010; and
Whereas, to the delight of Fort Mill fans and the disappointment of their foes, the outing ended in the Jackets' packing up the latest of three state-title swim trophies, all won over the past several years; and
Whereas, Coach Lindsey Hawkins, assisted by Cindy Van Buskirk, guided these championship-caliber boys all season long by pushing them to strive for excellence and encouraging them daily so that they were prepared to swim their best; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing and congratulating this magnificent group of talented young men on their outstanding achievements in the state swim meet, and the members look for continued great achievements by these athletes in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Fort Mill High School boys swim team on capturing the 2010 Class AAA State Championship title and recognize the swimmers and their coaches on a sensational season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Principal M. Dee Christopher and Coach Lindsey Hawkins of Fort Mill High School.
