A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-80, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF PRECINCTS IN ANDERSON COUNTY, SO AS TO ADD THE "TOWN CREEK" PRECINCT, TO REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THE NAMES OF THESE PRECINCTS MAY BE FOUND AND MAINTAINED BY THE DIVISION OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, AND TO CORRECT ARCHAIC LANGUAGE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-80 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 217 of 2008, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-80.    (A)    In Anderson County there are the following voting precincts:

Appleton-Equinox

Barker's Creek-McAdams

Belton

Bishop's Branch

Bowling Green

Broadview

Broadway

Brushy Creek

Cedar Grove

Center Rock

Centerville Station A

Centerville Station B

(B)    The precinct lines defining the above precincts in Anderson County are as shown on the official map prepared by and on file with the OfficeDivision of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-07-08P-07-12 and as shown on official copies furnished to the Registration and Elections Commission for Anderson County by the office.

(C)    The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be established by the Registration and Elections Commission for Anderson County subject to the approval of the majority of the Anderson County Legislative Delegation."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
