A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ERECT INDIVIDUAL SIGNS AT TWO MILE INTERVALS ALONG INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 385 FROM MILE MARKER 22 TO MILE MARKER 34 THAT CONTAIN THE WORDS "WORLD WAR I 1917-1918", "WORLD WAR II 1941-1945", "THE KOREAN WAR 1950-1953", "THE VIETNAM WAR 1956-1975", "SECOND PERSIAN GULF WAR 'OPERATION DESERT STORM' 1991", "AFGHANISTAN WAR OCTOBER 7, 2001 TO PRESENT", AND "THIRD PERSIAN GULF WAR MARCH 19, 2003 TO PRESENT".

Whereas, it would be fitting and proper to recognize the United States servicemen and servicewomen who defended our freedom in the seven major wars our nation fought during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries by erecting signs along Interstate 385 that commemorate these wars. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request that the Department of Transportation erect individual signs at two mile intervals along Interstate Highway 385 from Mile Marker 22 to Mile Marker 34 that contain the words "World War I 1917-1918", "World War II 1941-1945", "The Korean War 1950-1953", "The Vietnam War 1956-1975", "Second Persian Gulf War 'Operation Desert Storm' 1991", "Afghanistan War October 7, 2001 to present", and "Third Persian Gulf War March 19, 2003 to present".

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
