A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND KEOWEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN OCONEE COUNTY UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS CENTENNIAL YEAR, 2013.

Whereas, Keowee Elementary School in Seneca, South Carolina in the Oconee County School District will be holding a school wide celebration on January 30, 2013; and

Whereas, students and faculty will spend this 100th day of the school year by celebrating the 100th birthday of Keowee Elementary; and

Whereas, the day will be filled with birthday cake and the opening of a time capsule that we be again filled with new items selected by students from each grade level; and

Whereas, another centennial celebration will be held on May 18, 2013, with food, games, and music; and

Whereas, the Oconee County School District is one of Oconee County's largest employers and has district and school accreditation through SACS/CASI and AdvancED; and

Whereas, the district's motto is "Education is Everybody's Business" and their vision is to produce students who can communicate effectively, solve problems competently, think critically and creatively, act responsibly, and recognize and respect the right of individual differences. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognize and commend Keowee Elementary School upon the occasion of its Centennial Year, 2013.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Keowee Elementary School.
