TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR PAYTON ALANA HOLMES FOR HER EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP, INGENUITY, POISE, AND TALENT AND TO CONGRATULATE HER FOR BEING NAMED SOUTH CAROLINA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN 2015.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to learn that Payton Alana Holmes was named South Carolina's Outstanding Teen 2015; and
Whereas, the daughter of Cammie and Brentin Holmes, fifteen-year-old Payton Holmes is a freshman at Socastee High School, where she serves as her class's secretary, is a junior varsity cheerleader, and is a member of the school's student council; and
Whereas, she also is a member of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service; and
Whereas, as the founder of Payton's Partners in Service, Payton Holmes travels throughout the State partnering with many different charities to make South Carolina the best it can be. In the past year, she has participated in over thirty charity events that have raised over one million dollars; and
Whereas, she relishes spending her free time visiting residents in local assisted living facilities to bring them "goodie bags" and to enjoy their company. She encourages young people in the Palmetto State to make time for serving others; and
Whereas, the South Carolina Senate appreciates the significant contributions that Payton Holmes is making as she represents the Palmetto State in her role as South Carolina's Outstanding Teen 2015, and the members look forward to hearing of her ongoing accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Payton Alana Holmes for her exceptional leadership, ingenuity, poise, and talent and congratulate her for being named South Carolina's Outstanding Teen 2015.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Payton Alana Holmes.
