THE COMMITTEE ON FISH, GAME AND FORESTRY

To whom was referred a Bill (H. 3880) to amend Section 50-11-20, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to certain terms and their definitions that relate to the migratory, etc., respectfully

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-11-20, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO CERTAIN TERMS AND THEIR DEFINITIONS THAT RELATE TO THE MIGRATORY WATERFOWL COMMITTEE, THE CREATION OF THE COMMITTEE, ITS MEMBERSHIP, AND RESPONSIBILITIES, SO AS TO INCREASE ITS MEMBERSHIP BY ONE WHO SHALL BE A DESIGNEE OF DELTA WATERFOWL OF SOUTH CAROLINA WHO IS NOT A PAID EMPLOYEE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 50-11-20(B) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 214 of 2008, is further amended to read:

"(B)    There is created the Migratory Waterfowl Committee composed of nine ten members. A designee of Ducks Unlimited of South Carolina, who is not a paid employee, a designee of the South Carolina Waterfowl Association, who is not a paid employee, a designee of Delta Waterfowl of South Carolina, who is not a paid employee, and the chairman Chairman of the board Board of the Department of Natural Resources, or his designee, shall serve ex officio. Two members appointed by the chairman Chairman of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee of the House of Representatives, two are appointed by the chairman Chairman of the Fish, Game and Forestry Committee of the Senate, and two are appointed by the Governor, all of whom must be cognizant of waterfowl. The members of the committee shall serve for terms of three years and until successors are appointed and qualify. Vacancies are filled for the unexpired term in the manner of the original appointment. The members of the committee shall elect a chairman annually."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
