VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE FEBRUARY 21, 2018 AS "PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS DAY" IN SOUTH CAROLINA IN HONOR OF THE ESSENTIAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY THIS GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS.
Whereas, engineers are able to transform the world by advancing new discoveries and technologies that change the way Americans live, think, and work; and
Whereas, South Carolina is home to thousands of engineers who are dedicated to enriching our State through their work in construction, education, government, industry, and private practice; and
Whereas, through their integral involvement in the design, construction, and maintenance of our built environment, these engineers help ensure a strong infrastructure to accommodate new industry, homes, communities, schools, and churches; and
Whereas, the 2018 observance of National Engineers Week, February 18th through 24th, provides an opportunity to recognize the engineering profession as a vital part of South Carolina's economy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize February 21, 2018 as "Professional Engineers Day" in South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Adam B. Jones, Executive Director of the South Carolina Society of Professional Engineers.
