A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE CRAIG PARKS UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE, TO EXTEND DEEP APPRECIATION FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the dedicated service that Craig Parks, their friend and colleague, has rendered to the body; and

Whereas, known affectionately as "LP," "OA," and "Fred," Craig graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and from the University of South Carolina with a Master of Public Administration; and

Whereas, Craig began his career with the Senate Finance Committee in 2006. Since that time, he has served as Assistant Director for Tax Policy and as Senior Research and Budget Analyst for the Sales and Income Tax Legislative Subcommittee and the Higher Education Budget Subcommittee; and

Whereas, prior to his service with the Senate Finance Committee, Craig spent six years with the Budget and Control Board's Office of Research and Statistics as a Fiscal Policy Analyst; two years with the Department of Employment and Workforce as a Statistical and Research Analyst; and one year with Mothers Against Drunk Driving as an Assistant Public Policy Liaison; and

Whereas, Craig is a faithful member of Rose Hill Presbyterian Church; and

Whereas, an avid sports fan, Craig enjoys golfing in his free time and cheering for the Gamecocks; and

Whereas, Craig has been married to his wife Amy for eighteen years. Together, they have four children: Anna Grace, Coleman, Addy, and Margaret; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the diligence and commitment that Craig Parks has shown in serving the South Carolina Senate and the State. The members take immense pleasure in wishing him well as he takes on the role of Director of Governmental Affairs at the University of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Craig Parks upon the occasion of his retirement from the South Carolina Senate Finance Committee, extend deep appreciation for his many years of exemplary service, and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Craig Parks.
