A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR PORTER & ROSENFELD LLC LAW FIRM AND ITS PARTNERS, KENNETH C. PORTER AND ROBERT M. ROSENFELD, ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR RETIREMENT, TO EXTEND DEEP APPRECIATION FOR THEIR FORTY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE GREENVILLE COUNTY BAR, SOUTH CAROLINA BAR, AND STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO OFFER BEST WISHES FOR A SATISFYING AND REWARDING RETIREMENT.

Whereas, since 1977, the people of Greenville have enjoyed the benefit of the dedication, experience, and leadership of Kenneth C. Porter and Robert M. Rosenfeld, partners in the law firm of Porter & Rosenfeld LLC, who soon will retire after forty years of outstanding service to the people of South Carolina, especially those in the Greenville area; and

Whereas, Kenneth C. Porter has been practicing law in Greenville since 1967. He is a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe, has been recognized as a Best Lawyer in America and a Super Lawyer (2008-2011), and has been presented with the Greenville Bar's highest honor, the Tommy Thomason Award; and

Whereas, a practicing attorney since 1975, Robert M. Rosenfeld is a past chairman of the South Carolina Ethics Advisory Committee and served as president of the Greenville County Bar in 2001; and

Whereas, in 1977, Kenneth Porter and Robert Rosenfeld formed the partnership of Porter & Rosenfeld and opened their doors at 411 Pettigru Street in Greenville. There, they practiced law together in the great tradition of small firms in South Carolina and earned their clients' respect as exemplary husbands, fathers, grandfathers, lawyers, and friends; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and leadership Kenneth Porter and Robert Rosenfeld have bestowed on the people of South Carolina in a lifetime of service to their community and State. The House takes great pleasure in wishing them all the best as they enter a well-deserved retirement, and the members trust they will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Porter & Rosenfeld LLC law firm and its partners, Kenneth C. Porter and Robert M. Rosenfeld, on the occasion of their retirement, extend deep appreciation for their forty years of distinguished service to the Greenville County Bar, South Carolina Bar, and State of South Carolina, and offer best wishes for a satisfying and rewarding retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Kenneth C. Porter and Robert M. Rosenfeld.
