A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HUMAN AFFAIRS COMMISSION, RELATING TO COMPLAINT, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 4757, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The regulations of the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission, relating to Complaint, designated as Regulation Document Number 4757, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

Regulation 65-2 governs the requirements for the Agency's acceptance and retention of formal complaints of discrimination under the Human Affairs Law. Current language permits complainants to file in person or by mail, but does not contemplate modern transmissions, such as through facsimile or by email.

Notice of Drafting for the proposed amended regulation was published in the State Register on August 25, 2017.
