VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE CAROLINA FOOTHILLS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY AND TO COMMEND THE BUSINESS FOR ITS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO SPARTANBURG, GREENVILLE, AND CHEROKEE COUNTIES.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union as it celebrates this important milestone; and
Whereas, headquartered in Spartanburg, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union is a financial cooperative that has diligently served the financial needs of its members since 1960. Today, it has a membership of over sixteen thousand; and
Whereas, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union established itself as a community development financial institution that serves people of modest means and provides opportunities to people that other financial institutions typically ignore; and
Whereas, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union's core principles and values mandate that all members, regardless of their background, will be treated with dignity and respect; and
Whereas, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union works to address the needs of its communities by developing affordable products and services and creating a curriculum that fills the financial literacy gaps of its members; and
Whereas, since 2015, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union has saved its members over eleven million dollars by refinancing high-interest loans from other financial institutions; and
Whereas, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union creates valuable partnerships in its communities that establish new businesses, grow savings for at-risk youth, and serve the underserved in areas of financial literacy, shelter, hunger, acceptance, and mental health; and
Whereas, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union has also invested in schools, with the creation of three on-campus elementary branches, enabling the next generation to begin saving for the expense of higher education and teaching them to appreciate the value of money; and
Whereas, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union constantly works on developing its staff to become the leaders of tomorrow, who will sustain the credit union in the future by producing innovative and creative products and ideas that benefit its membership; and
Whereas, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union continues to strive daily in every development, in every employee, in every city, in every branch, and in every member; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedicated service of Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union to its surrounding communities and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union upon the occasion of its sixtieth anniversary and commend the business for its many years of service to Spartanburg, Greenville, and Cherokee Counties.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union.
