VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE THE MCBEE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM FOR AN IMPRESSIVE SEASON AND TO CELEBRATE THE PANTHERS' CAPTURE OF THE 2018 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, on May 19, 2018, the McBee High School baseball team claimed the 2018 Class A State Championship title with a 3-2 victory, powering past Hannah-Pamplico on the Panthers' home field to sweep the Class A final series 2-0; and
Whereas, it was the second South Carolina High School League Class A state crown in three years for McBee and the third overall; and
Whereas, by the time the players had claimed their newest crown, McBee fans were already making plans to return next year to see their team repeat the feat; and
Whereas, demonstrating courage, drive, and pure heart, McBee turned in a marvelous performance of teamwork, keeping the excited crowd enthralled; and
Whereas, using his own considerable athletic training and skills, Coach Chris Lloyd, assisted by an able staff, built his players into championship caliber and encouraged them not to settle for second best; and
Whereas, adding yet more sweetness to the victory, three McBee players, twins Connor and Clark Kirkley and Shane Hammonds made All-State; and
Whereas, proud of these fine student athletes, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the recognition the McBee High School baseball players have brought to their school and community, and the members look to hear of many more victories for the school in coming seasons. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the McBee High School baseball team for an impressive season and celebrate the Panthers' capture of the 2018 Class A State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Dennis McDaniel and Coach Chris Lloyd of McBee High School.
