A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CELEBRATE THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ON WINNING THE 2018 CLASS AAAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO COMMEND THESE RUNNERS ON A STELLAR SEASON.

Whereas, having shot past all comers, the 15-0 Dorman High School girls cross country team collected fifty-six points and outpaced rival Riverside, thus nailing the 2018 Class AAAAA State Championship title and ending Riverside's five-title streak; and

Whereas, held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Sandhill Research and Education Center in Columbia, the championship meet showed off the fastest Dorman team in school history; and

Whereas, exhilarated Cavalier fans, reveling in Dorman's decisive win, were already making plans to return in 2019 to watch their team repeat the feat; and

Whereas, Head Coach Jerry Kimbrell and Assistant Coach Jessica Collins were determined to see their runners show the best that was in them. Accordingly, they drilled these athletes in hard work, self-discipline, and team spirit, and the results speak for themselves; and

Whereas, to add even greater luster to the Dorman crown, Page Dickey, Katerina Hendrix, Baylie Sisk, and Charity Davies were tapped for All-State, and Baylie Sisk and Addison Osteen earned berths in the Shrine Bowl; and

Whereas, further, Head Coach Jerry Kimbrell was named Region II 5A Coach of the Year; and

Whereas, the House extends its best congratulations to the Dorman High School girls cross country team and is pleased to add its collective voice of praise to the many accolades that have flowed in on the occasion of the school's capturing the top prize at the 2018 state competition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, celebrate the Dorman High School girls cross country team on winning the 2018 Class AAAAA State Championship title and commend these runners on a stellar season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Ken Kiser and Head Coach Jerry Kimbrell of Dorman High School.
