A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE DEATH OF AIKEN COUNTY CORONER TIMOTHY "TIM" CARLTON AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Aiken County Coroner Timothy "Tim" Carlton on February 18, 2019, at the age of sixty; and

Whereas, this U.S. Army veteran came to the Aiken County Coroner's Office in 1998. He was elected to the office in 2004 and was honored to serve the county for almost twenty-one years, the past fourteen as coroner; and

Whereas, Tim cared deeply for his friends, family, and all the people of Aiken County. His friendship and professionalism as Aiken County coroner will be sorely missed; and

Whereas, predeceased by his father, Robert A. Carlton, Jr., Tim Carlton is survived by his wife, Nana Carlton; his sons, Chris (Jill) Carlton, Joe (Allyson) Carlton, and Tyrus (Rachel) Carlton; his mother, Pat Carlton; his sisters, Debbie (Ricky) Corley, Lisa Ozment, and Sherri Carlton; his brothers, Butch Carlton and Charles Carlton; six grandchildren, Ella, Emmett, Stark, Merritt, Liam, and East; and a host of other relatives and friends. All who had the privilege of knowing him honor the fine legacy of excellence Tim Carlton has left to the citizens of this great State, most particularly those of Aiken County. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the death of Aiken County Coroner Timothy "Tim" Carlton and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Nana Carlton for the family.
