A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE CINDY JACOBS OF LAURENS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 56 FOR HER EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND DISTINGUISHED SERVICE IN CHILD NUTRITION FOR THE DISTRICT, AND TO OFFER BEST WISHES FOR CONTINUED SUCCESSES.

the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to congratulate Cindy Jacobs for her excellent service to Laurens County School District 56, where she is employed in Child Nutrition Services, the past twenty-four years as director of child nutrition; and

Whereas, during her time of service with District 56, Cindy has compiled a record of countless hours working with district schools to provide delicious, nutritious meals to students and their families; and

Whereas, from mid March through July of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she and her staff served over six hundred thousand meals; and

Whereas, in addition to all of her hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cindy Jacobs has led Laurens County School District 56 in earning numerous accolades related to school nutrition, including praise for a school that achieved 100% lunch participation and recognition as one of America's Healthiest Schools; and

Whereas, Cindy continues to write and win numerous grants, such as Fresh Fruit and Vegetables and Fuel Up to Play 60, and she serves on multiple community committees to promote healthy food choices and healthy living; and

Whereas, further, as a person who knows from extensive experience that food and fun pair well together, Cindy Jacobs has hosted many events in District 56 to promote healthy food choices, such as the district's annual Taste of 56 and Culinary Cookoff; and

Whereas, grateful for the consistent commitment and leadership Cindy Jacobs has bestowed on the people of this great State, most particularly those of Laurens County, the members of the House of Representatives take great pleasure in congratulating her for all of those successes and her leadership during COVID-19. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Cindy Jacobs of Laurens County School District 56 for her excellent leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and distinguished service in child nutrition for the district, and offer best wishes for continued successes.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Cindy Jacobs.
