TO CONGRATULATE SANDRA HICKS BRYAN ON THE OCCASION OF HER SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are delighted to pause in their deliberations to join with Sandra Hicks Bryan who celebrated her seventieth birthday on Monday, April 12, 2021; and
Whereas, born April 12, 1951, Sandra is one of three children and the only daughter of Annie May Hicks and William Hicks.
Whereas, a graduate of Dentsville High School, Sandra also attended the University of South Carolina. Having an interesting and varied career path, she has spent years working with several prominent businesses and organizations such as Bank of America, Palmetto Pride, and the Al Barry Foundation. Those who have worked with Sandra are quick to mention her good nature, textbook professionalism, sincere willingness to help, unique ability to work with everyone, and invaluable problem-solving skills. These strong attributes brought her into service with the South Carolina House of Representatives; and
Whereas, for the last three years, she's devoted her time, energy, diligence, and talents as the legislative assistant to Representatives Robert J. "RJ" May III, Chris Wooten, Cally R. "Cal" Forrest, and Micajah P. "Micah" Caskey IV; and
Whereas, with a profound sense of duty and passion, Sandra has been deeply involved with the Republican Party. She has proudly been a member of multiple women's GOP groups, the Lexington GOP, the Richland GOP, the South Carolina GOP, and has served as a delegate at the Republican National Convention; and
Whereas, in addition to her dedication to civil service, she has been known for giving back to the community. Her time spent volunteering with organizations like Harvest Hope and Habitat for Humanity exemplify her willingness to give to others and assist those in all walks of life; and
Whereas, a woman of great faith, Sandra is a member of First Baptist Columbia. She enjoys volunteering with many Christian organizations, which benefit individuals and the community as a whole, as well as attending Baptist functions; and
Whereas, in her free time Sandra finds great enjoyment in helping others, hiking trails throughout South Carolina, and cheering for the University of South Carolina women's basketball team and watching Carolina Panthers games; and
Whereas, those that know Sandra best talk often of her kindness, her sincerity, and her genuine nature. They profess that she's always ready to drop what she's doing in order to help others in need of aid; and
Whereas, birthdays provide a special time and opportunity to celebrate and honor those of great importance in our lives. It is a great pleasure for the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives to recognize Sandra Bryan on the occasion of her seventieth birthday, to thank her for all of her outstanding work here and in the community, and to wish her an exceptional birthday celebration. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Sandra Hicks Bryan on the occasion of her seventieth birthday and wish her a joyous birthday celebration.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Sandra Bryan.
