VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE CASON HOWLE OF THE GREENWOOD HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM ON A TREMENDOUS SEASON AND TO HONOR HIM FOR WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA YOUTH WRESTLING ASSOCIATION 15U STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN HIS WEIGHT CLASS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to recognize wrestler Cason Howle for winning the South Carolina Youth Wrestling Association (SCYWA) 15U State Championship title in the 160 pounds weight class on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the North Charleston Coliseum; and
Whereas, a four-year veteran of his sport, Cason wrestles at Greenwood High School, where he holds the title of Middle School Wrestler of the Year for both 2020 and 2021; and
Whereas, presently an eighth grader homeschooled through South Carolina Virtual Charter School, this young athlete wrestles with Ninety Six Youth Wrestling as his SCYWA club; and
Whereas, Cason's newest victory brought him his third SCYWA State Championship title, his first two being the 2018 and 2019 titles. He considers himself very blessed to have benefited from wrestling's growing popularity as a sport in the Lakelands area, with the addition of Lander University's wrestling program. He has had support from the coaches at Ninety Six Youth Wrestling, where he first began as a wrestler, as well as from the staff at Greenwood High; and
Whereas, moreover, he benefits from having a ready training partner at home in his younger brother, Luke Howle, an accomplished wrestler who finished second at the 2021 SCYWA State Championship in his weight class; and
Whereas, Cason wishes to see wrestling grow in popularity and appreciation as a sport and desires to help provide more opportunities for young people to gain the self-discipline, determination, and confidence that wrestling affords; and
Whereas, the members of the House take great pleasure in applauding the success of wrestler Cason Howle and look forward to hearing of his continued accomplishments in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Cason Howle of the Greenwood High School wrestling team on a tremendous season and honor him for winning the South Carolina Youth Wrestling Association 15U State Championship title in his weight class.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Cason Howle.
