A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF WILLIAM RIKARD "WILLS" SWYGERT AND EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of William Rikard "Wills" Swygert at the age of twenty-two on Monday, May 31, 2021; and

Whereas, born in Columbia on February 21, 1999, he was reared in a loving family, the son of Chris and Robbin Swygert, with his devoted younger brother, Patrick Swygert; and

Whereas, when he was only seven years old young Wills bought his first cow all by himself, as he said, for "30 hundred" dollars; and

Whereas, at the young age of seventeen, he received a liver transplant and spent many days in the hospital carefully attended by his mother and aunts, and that transplant led to some of the best years of his life; and

Whereas, a member of Wittenberg Lutheran Church, Wills Swygert was employed with Powerhome Solar; and

Whereas, he lived his best life everyday and loved to play cards with his father and brother and friends; and

Whereas, Mr. Swygert was a member of the Ponderosa Country Club and was an avid golfer; and

Whereas, a keen lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed duck hunting and spending time on the lake and at the farm; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the example of living life to the fullest that Wills Swygert set for all who knew him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of William Rikard "Wills" Swygert and extend their deepest sympathy to his large and loving family and his many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Rikard "Wills" Swygert.
