TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR RIECY G FOR FIFTEEN YEARS OF OUTSTANDING BROADCASTING IN THE LOWCOUNTRY AND TO WISH HER MANY MORE YEARS OF PROFOUND IMPACT ON HER COMMUNITY.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the energy, enthusiasm, and artistic excellence that Riecy G has brought to broadcasting in the Lowcountry; and
Whereas, a native of Queens, New York, Riecy G returned to her family's roots when she relocated to Charleston as a young adult; and
Whereas, she earned a bachelor's degree in professional English from South Carolina State University; and
Whereas, with a fascinatingly diverse professional background, Riecy G has appeared in numerous television commercials and has worked as a print model. Also, she has worked in the motion picture industry with several award-winning directors, producers, and actors, in various departments of film production; and
Whereas, a creative and multi-talented professional, she owns a production company which she has used to produce and coordinate many major large-scale events, festivals, and productions; and
Whereas, Riecy G began her storied radio career in 2001 as a promotions technician. Within six months, her drive and hard work led to her promotion as marketing director, where she successfully managed the day-to-day promotional operations for three of Charleston's top-rated radio stations; and
Whereas, she stepped into the role of on-air personality at Z93 Jamz in 2006, bringing her New York-style and flair as host of its midday show. Her buoyant personality and authenticity have enabled her to relate to her listeners and have consistently led to her rating as the number-one midday show in Charleston for the past fifteen years; and
Whereas, Riecy G's passion to encourage and inspire her listeners every day during her extremely popular Daily Motivation series enables her to provide words of encouragement about life, love, and happiness; and
Whereas, dedicated to the community she serves, she has actively supported the Lowcountry both on the air and in the streets throughout her entire radio career and has used her platform to uplift people and make a meaningful and positive impact on their lives; and
Whereas, Riecy G has enjoyed her experiences in radio, especially interacting with the public and hearing their inspiring stories, the driving force behind the creation of her video podcast show On the Real, which inspires everyday people through everyday people; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the professional distinction that Riecy G has brought to the Lowcountry throughout her fifteen years of broadcasting, as well as her exemplary commitment to the citizens in the community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Riecy G for fifteen years of outstanding broadcasting in the Lowcountry and wish her many more years of profound impact on her community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Riecy G.
