A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE AND RECOGNIZE JAMES RUDY GRAY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING AND EXCEPTIONAL WORK SERVING AS EDITOR AND PRESIDENT OF THE BAPTIST COURIER IN GREENVILLE COUNTY AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, born on July 31, 1953, James Rudy Gray was called into Christian vocational service while a student at the University of South Carolina, prompting him to transfer to Southern Wesleyan; and

Whereas, James Rudy Gray began working at the Baptist Courier in November 2012 and assumed the position of editor and president in January 2013. Since 2000, he has been a columnist for "Pulpit Helps" (now "Disciple Magazine- The Counselor's Corner"); and

Whereas, he is a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, a counselor referral resource for Focus on the Family; seminar leader for seminars on marriage, personality, boundaries, and stress; and a certified instructor for "Listening and Loving," a marriage and wellness program; and

Whereas, James Rudy Gray has authored six books and has served as senior pastor of four South Carolina Baptist Convention churches; and

Whereas, it is a great pleasure to congratulate and recognize James Rudy Gray for his decades of service to Christian vocational service. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate and recognize James Rudy Gray for his outstanding and exceptional work serving as editor and president of the Baptist Courier in Greenville County and to wish him continued success in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to James Rudy Gray.
